baby oil, olive oil? any other ideas?

My scalp can have little to mid size white flakes fall, it can get red and itchy and scab up. If I don’t wash everyday, my hair looks oily pretty quick. I think maybe I should try the olive oil treatments, etc. I use dandruff shampoos and the conditioners.and sometimes moisturizing shampoos and conditioners, like Pantene.

My doctor has given me advice and even prescription shampoo and nothing has worked. I did try coconut oil treatments and that works for a couple of months, but it just comes back.

I just moved into a humid climate and the humidity seems to aggrivate it. Also, i’m sort of embarassed to get my hair cut because i’m afraid the stylist will think i don’t take care of my scalp.

I have bad psoriasis on my scalp. I get a nasty flare up about 2-3 times a week and I have learned that stress is not irritating it like the doctor thought. I have tried many OTC medications and shampoos, along with 4 different topical steroids and they have not helps me at all. I need suggestions for alternative treatments (preferably very safe and please list the side effects)

I have had ring worm on my scalp for about 6 years, and I went to many doctors, and they probably gave me most of there treatments but nothing helped. Please help me.

I have long dry, brittle hair. Dry at the bottom and oily at the scalp. I need any suggestions that aren’t too expensive. Shampoo? Conditioner? treatments? I use redken anti-snap leave in treatment now but it’s not enough.

I ussually dont have any hair problems but latley i have had very severe dry scalp. My hair is mixed with black and white. I dont know what to do. Its the salon service thats done in 3 treatments thats supposed to help against hair loss to revitalize hair follicles and increase cellular turnover, and unglog DHT and sebum buildup. Has anybody tried it? Cosmetologists, what do u say about it?

BTW i am NOT asking about the Nioxin 3 part shampoo(cleanser) conditioner (scalp therapy) and scalp treatment. This is the Renew in salon treatment. I already know the 3 part system. I wanna know about the salon treatment thats done in 3 treatments, every 4 weeks.

I wash my hair everyday, but if i go one day without, my scalp is itchy and my part is greasy and smells musty. Any advice will help. Like what shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products would make me feel confident about my hair again?! Please and Thank You Yahoo Users.

Any suggestions that have worked for you for hair loss and itchy scalp? Have tried different shampoo and salon scalp treatments. Have seen a doctor but no answers.

I’m planning to bleach my natural black hair to blonde.. so what are the negative effects of bleaching to the scalp? and how about the hair, will it get frizzy ends afterwards? should i treat it with hot oil or other treatments such as protein thingy? will my hair fall if the bleach is applied from the scalp? and if can i temporarily dye it temporarily immediately to other color???

I thought I had dandruff, but my stylist said I had dry scalp. He said to wash my hair every other day, and to NOT use dandruff shampoo. I’m doing everything he said but I STILL have flakes! It’s so embarassing, because nothing seems to work. I’ve even tried a salon brand shampoo. Are there any remedies, treatments, or shampoos to help me? Thanks in advance! :]

I have really dry scalp I’ve tried tea tree and other shampoos and nothing seems to work. It’s to the point where it hurts when I scratch. Any suggestions?

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) causes dandruff on the scalp and causes inflamed, red flaky patches of dry skin on the face. I tried topical steroids on my face but it made my condition worse. Are there any other treatments for SD on the face? Supposedly SD is caused by the body’s overreaction to yeast that normally live on the skin. This overreaction causes the inflammation and dryness. It is unknown why some people get SD but not others. I am using shampoos like Head and Shoulders for my scalp but don’t know what to use on my face.

My scalp often gets very scaly and dry- any suggestions about ointments or creams that may help? Is T-Gel the best shampoo?
I do get psoriasis, but mainly on my chest- My scalp just gets bone dry…

I have the hair cholesterol, but i do not have a heating cap and i want to do it myself at home…
I know the usual process; shampoo, towel dry, then apply the cholesterol, then after half an hour – 45 mins rinse it out, but how do i do it without a heating cap? Let me know what you have done that helped your hair please! Thanks a lot!

My hair is veryyyyy dry! I do everything from deep condition, oil treatments, and leave-in conditioners but my hair will still be dry no matter what and it makes me very angry and sad. I don’t even use heat appliances or harmful products on my hair. I feel as though it’s because I am lacking natural oils. What can I do about this? Will not using conditioners or products make my scalp produce it’s own sebum? Vitamins?

My scalp is always flakey with little scabs. Not huge, bleeding scabs- but dry little patches. Any shampoo’s or treatments to get a healthy scalp? I heard an unhealthy scalp prevents your hair from growing good. Is that true?

I just got back from Mexico and i got cornrows..my scalp got dry due to the exposure to the air and sunlight and now i have a little bit of dandruff. Are there any good treatments that will make my head not so dry?

My 6 year old just had a haircut (his last was 4 weeks ago) and I see the circular raised marks indicating ringworm. Lamasil, Desenex and Lotrimin have been the otc recommendations on the sites I’ve visited. I’m waiting ’till his Doctor opens in the A.M.;but, any suggestions?
