How do you get food-coloring or Kool-Aid OUT of a dogs hair?
I want to dye my Westie’s hair green for a St. Patrick’s Day parade and want to know the best way to get it OUT. Read about someone’s dyed dog getting wet and the food coloring ruining her couch.
I won’t do it if it’s really difficult to get out.
He’s very tolerant of baths and such so any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!

If you really want to temporarily dye your dog’s coat, take it to a professional groomer, as they will know which ones are safe to use & are less likely to grab/run.
Colour can grab more than you want it to [experience of temporary hair dye disasters on my hair] so you may just have to let it grow out.
Maybe a green wig & coat for your Westie might be an easier option?
How do you get it out when you use it on human hair? You don’t…it might fade a bit as you wash it, but otherwise it has to grow out.
I wouldn’t bother dyeing your dog. It’s more trouble than it’s worth.
Just don’t do it. Dress the dog in a stupid sweater or something instead.
You could use temporary human hair dye, then just bathe him and it will come out. Test it on a small area of his fur first to make sure it comes out.
us human hair dye, that wil wash out after 5 or 6 washes.
i don’t think that’s a good idea. he’s white, so his fur will hold color for a LOONG time. better just get him a little t shirt or a shamrock leash and collar.
Both are really nasty if they get wet. The kool-aid is even sticky without sugar. Just get some shamrock cloth and make him a bandanna, or a cape
You can go to the pet store and get temporary hair color for your dog. Kool-aid is semi-permanent in human hair, so I assume it is on dog hair as well.
my boss nephew coloured their white dog in blue koolaid
it took over 3 months for it to come out
so think hard do you really want to do this to your dog
find a costume instead which would be way better
