My wife’s hair is falling out (alopecia) and we don’t know what to do… Please help!

Anyone here know anyone who has alopecia that got married or has a good girlfriend/boyfriend. Alopecia is something I’ve had since 4 years old and while some people don’t even know it’s something I can be insecure about. For those that don’t know what it is, it’s hair loss. I’m just curious if anyone knows anyone with this and how they hold up with it? Do they have a girlfriend? Are they married? Do they have kids?

I have areata alopecia at the top of my head in two spots. If i were to get a hair transplant in those two spots would i no longer have areata alopecia?

I have read that there is no cure for alopecia, but there are many cases where hair growth may come back. Are there specialists in alopecia that anyone could recommend who can give better treatment options? It would be for a ten year old who is not responding to rogaine or cortisone shots.

My partner and I are expecting our first child shortly and she suffers from alopecia. It was under control with the use of the contraceptive pill and minoxydil, but I was wondering whether it will be passed on to our child. My side of the family has no history of any baldness as far as I can remember

Me and my cousin have a scene/emo haircut. But we iron/straighten our hair everyday for a while, but when my mom sometimes helps me straighten my hair, she pulls out like 2 strands of hair and thats it (she never straightens my hair, only sometimes) But can ironing hair cause alopecia? And if not, what does? I don’t want to lose my hair.

I’m 13 and I have alopecia (a hairloss disease) I am mostly bald. I think I’d really like to have a friend who lives close bye me in Minneasota but I don’t know how. I want to go to one of those support groups but my Mom doesn’t have time. Any ideas where I can find a friend with alopecia like me?

My sister has suffered from alopecia for over 10 years,now she has a daughter who is 5…could she have passed it to her?!

I was just curious if anyone had any information about alopecia, and if there is a cure for it. I have had it for a while, but this it the worst it has ever been. It is fairly deppressing for me and I would love to know if there is a cure or some sort of treatment.

i inherited alopecia from my fathers side. my dad and some of my aunts have it. i first lost hair in high school then it grew back. i had thick, coarse and wavy hair in high school then when i got my hair colored it just wasn’t the same. it started thinning but it still is wavy and coarse. i was really planning to have my hair rebonded or straightened but i discovered a bald spot. i am wondering if it will be harmful to my hair because of my alopecia?will it cause my hair to fall more because of the chemicals? serious answers only. mean/nonsense answers will be given a low rating or will be reported. thanks.
p.s. my hair is color free for 3 years now. i wanted to keep it healthy before i had it straightened.

The boy is eighteen today and alopecia started ten years ago. Now he is losing eye brows. Hypotireoditis is diagnosed a few months ago, probably as a consequence of his hiper sensitivity

My friend’s mother is suffering from alopecia and is really struggling to treat it. Her mother wheres hats, wigs to cover it. Her mothers confidence has gone down dramatically. She is now becoming more and more depressed. Her mother is old school like mine so as far as researching books, internet thats out of the question. I have alopecia areata. I’ve read reports that people with alopecia have reversed their hair loss by following a wheat-free/gluten-free diet. I’m willing to try it, but I’m wondering how long of a trial would be a fair test. How long did it take for YOUR hair to grow back after starting a wheat free diet? I have come across many cures on alopecia but still I am not convinced. Do these cures needn’t be effective on everybody? Does one need to first consult his/her Doc? Some cures are really scary; the impact would be on one’s hormonal imbalance. Can anybody, who is an expert in this field, advice me on this?

I am 12 almost 13 and in seventh grade and have had alopecia since the summer before third grade. I am really sick of having it and i have lost it fully a couple of times and a little several times. I am desperate of getting rid of alopecia so if you could tell be if there are any cures for it and if it is related to astma and alleriges or stress. Any other information would also be greatly apreciated.
