Does anyone know what the chances are of losing eyebrows and other body hair? 38 years young. Lost a patch of hair 2inches by about 3inches (totally bald) in a matter of about 12 hours. Doctor said it is Alopicia. I have been on numerous wesites and I cannot seem to find the ionformation I need. Can anyone please help me? This all happened on Monday and I am freaking out. My hair is thinning everywhere else but so far, no bald patches. I want to know so badly if or what the chances of the rest of my body hair falling out. Please Help me with information, websites…anything PLEASE!?
Does anyone know what the chances are and what period of time? It was abrubt but now it is to thinning everywhere. I am aware that can continue to get patches but I don’t know what period of time is "typical".. ![]()
I shouldn’t have said freaking out. I am only freaking out about the eybrow thing more than anything. I have survived a lot and buried almost my entire family. Life could be so much worse. I can handle wigs..notta problem for me at all. I even let my 9 year old draw in my bald spot! lol Heck, it won’t take me as long to get ready!
Anyhoo…I just really want to know more about how fast/eyebrows/eyelashes. *chews off her fingernails.* Thanks for the answers so far!
I have a bald spot on the side of my head and the only thing so far that makes some sense is being Alopecia Areata. Is anyone familiar with this or have had any experiences?
I suffered from Alopecia Areata, a hair loss disease, as a child. I’m 15 now and it’s been about 10 years since I had this. Everyone thought I grew out of it because my hair is long and thick now. Well lately I’ve been losing hair in the shower and when I brush my hair. This morning I lost a chunk of hair and now have a bald spot that took me an hour to cover.
My question is, can Alopecia Areata come back?
My sister has alopecia we live in reno nv and she has a big bald spot in the back of her head she is a 11 years old and she hates alopecia so what can she use that really works….
I recently noticed a rather large bald spot with a small bit of red irritation on the back of my head and one more near the top of my head. I am 23.
i inherited alopecia from my fathers side. my dad and some of my aunts have it. i first lost hair in high school then it grew back. i had thick, coarse and wavy hair in high school then when i got my hair colored it just wasn’t the same. it started thinning but it still is wavy and coarse. i was really planning to have my hair rebonded or straightened but i discovered a bald spot. i am wondering if it will be harmful to my hair because of my alopecia?will it cause my hair to fall more because of the chemicals? serious answers only. mean/nonsense answers will be given a low rating or will be reported. thanks.
p.s. my hair is color free for 3 years now. i wanted to keep it healthy before i had it straightened.
