Alopecia or hair loss is the medical description of the loss of hair from the head or body, sometimes to the extent of baldness

Hi, I am 27 years old male and I am losing hair since past 5 years, my hair are now thin from the forehead of my scalp to the centre of the head. I just want to know if my hair loss is Alopecia Areata? is there anyway you can tell my hair loss is Alopecia Areata? if its not how how do I know if its genetic? we do have baldness history from my mother side, like my uncle was bald? Please help. THanks

My father was bald and I have been married for 15 years. My husband’s father is balding, and we have a 9 year old son. How can I tell if he will be bald. And can I tell if my husband will be bald? My partner and I are expecting our first child shortly and she suffers from alopecia. like baldness is on her side of the family not at all on my side. But her fathers family didnt have that problem. her mothers side had it bad. so i heard it mostly passes from the mothers side, cause im worried for my son i thought since i dont have that in my genes he would be ok , you know father to son genes, but now i hear that it really is determined by the mothers genes.

I have a family member that has had alopecia for some time now and even tended to a physician for this issue. Nothing has helped. Do any of you all know anyone with long-term alopecia?
