Alopecia Areata, Is a disease that rejects hair growth. I would like to know if anyone know a treatment for this condition that will help or even a cure?

My sister 27 yrs old has been experiencing thinning of hair and hair loss since 3 yrs. (possibly triggered off by stress and dieting). Her test results of hormones ,blood , sugar etc r normal . Dermotologists prescribed Minoxidil /Mintop .This was of little help and the hair growth is reversible once the medicine is stopped . Is there any cure for this condition

I have read articles about esssential oils like rosemary and lavendar stimulating scalp and new hair growth. Is this true? Also, what about scalp massage to help hair growth? I know nutrition, exercise, enough sleep etc are most important but what about these additional treatments? Has anyone seen a difference in their hair.

Okay, i’ve been doing some research on the topic of MPB and possible future cures, and from what I understand, MPB starts when Testosterone is converted into DHT. And it is heavily believed that hair loss is genetically influenced (meaning that it can be passed down to you from either sides of the family). BUT, what if DHT is the only thing genetic? Think about it…Why is it that women rarely suffer from hair loss or Female Pattern Baldness (I’m not saying all women, but a lot.)? And if a woman is suffering from hair loss, it’s mainly because her Testosterone level is high…Anyways, to make a long story short, the female hormone is estrogen = Hair growth… In order for men to grow their hair back, they would need to block their DHT levels of converted Testosterone and influence them with Estrogen… I mean think about it, the only way it has been said that a man would be able to grow his hair back is castrate himself (which is totally not worth it…lol) But do ya’ll understand where I’m coming from? What do ya’ll think?

Apopecia, Is a disease that rejects hair growth. I would like to know if anyone know anyone with this condition and a treatment that works.

I have read that there is no cure for alopecia, but there are many cases where hair growth may come back. Are there specialists in alopecia that anyone could recommend who can give better treatment options? It would be for a ten year old who is not responding to rogaine or cortisone shots.

I have been researching about hair growth and Male Pattern Baldness. So far I have been drinking Saw Palmetto but I am wondering if i should add in pygeum africanum. If I should what store sells it?

I started researching the subject after suffering from itchy and even burning scalp and refusing to take hormones to stimulate hair growth – I just don’t believe in it any more.

Since it’s an autoimmune disease, I think the source is stress or psychological state so besides working on that I’m looking for some natural hair loss treatment to go along with it…

Any advice?

Sharing information on this issue will be appreciated…

Thanks

S

After recently discovering that I had Male Pattern Baldness, I decided to take the initiative and do something about it. After researching many medications an alternative methods to hair growth, I came across Propecia. After obtaining a prescription to propecia, I began taking it immediately in order to slow the process of MPB. After being on it for about 2 weeks I have noticed a significant increase in shedding. Is this normal and if so how long does the shedding phase normally last? Thanks in Advance.

I have a long hair chihuahua that doesnt really have a long coat (he is still developing it, 7 months old), and I want him to have a fuller coat. I heard diet plays a big role, and am wondering what brand/foods would help hair growth. THanks!
