Can it reverse the process of male pattern baldness?

I am not talking about male pattern baldness, I am talking about allergies, or maybe reactions to certain medicines (not chemo), diseases, high fever, etc.

In January I appeared to have a perfectly healthy head of hair, the same as I have always had, except I always had a hairline that went in farther at the corners of the forehead than most people my age.

In February I noticed that a lot more hair was falling out than usual when I washed my hair, and my hair was becoming thinner. I would find a tub with a bunch of my hairs after a shower, and a counter with a bunch of hairs when I blow dried.

I just thought this could be from stress at school and lack of sleep at the time.

This continued for a good month, with my hair becoming thinner.

At the end of this thinning thing I noticed my hair line receding at the front and sides of the forehead and my hair was noticeably thinner at the front.

Right now my hair is not falling out any more, but still seems thinner than it once was. My hairline at the front still appears to be receded, I do not know if it is getting worse, or I am making myself think it is. But there is definitely a change from before.

I’ve been to my family doctor and a dermatologist and neither seemed concerned or provided any answers, they told me to come back in a few years.

Every male on both sides of the family has male pattern baldness. My dad always told me I’ll have hair like his one day, now I’m getting worried I really will. My mom always told me the gene will probably skip me.

I was reading, and DHT, which causes the hair loss is also responsible for facial hair growth and chest hair. I have only facial hair on my lip, and no chest hair. Can it cause hair loss but not the other hair growth?

I’ve heard the gene for hair loss comes from your mother, all her male relatives have hair loss. But she has a perfectly healthy thick head of hair. Same with every female on both sides of my family.

Hi all, my doctor diagnosed me with male-pattern baldness. However, I’ve been on Propecia for almost 2 months and the hair loss has only increased. Its so bad that when i run my fingers through my hair, I have hair with roots between my fingers. Is this normal for male-pattern baldness or is my doctor wrong in his diagnosis. Furthermore, I got my thyroid tested and the results are within the range, with a TSH of 3.6.

Can someone help me out?

Is it true that shampooing ones hair everyday accelerates Male Pattern Baldness?

I am losing my hair at the top of the scalp, is it male pattern baldness?

I had seen that my hair had started to shed a little more than normal for a few months now so I went to the doctor and got it checked out and he told me that it is probably male pattern baldness, he said that I could take finasterid or propecia to stop it but that if I stopped all the effects would go away!

PLease help me, I need to find a treatment, there must be something that actually works permanently.

Hello,

At age 21 I started to get male pattern baldness (forming a V or U shape in the front of my head). I am fine in the back. Could this be stress? I read stress related hair loss is usually patchy, this seems typical male – pattern baldness, but is it coming early because of stress??? Ive been under bad stress.

thank you,
Adam

I noticed a receding hairline but no major bald spots. Im 20 years old and i had chicken pox a few months back. My hairline has receded more from the left and is now receding gradually from the right. Is this a symtom of male pattern baldness at an early age or is it beacause of the chicken pox? And also, Can my hairline be fixed with any natural ingredients with no side effects?

I am 20 yrs old and i have a receding hairline. I do not have any major bald spots just thehairlinehas receded. Does this mean that i have male pattern baldness?

I have been researching about hair growth and Male Pattern Baldness. So far I have been drinking Saw Palmetto but I am wondering if i should add in pygeum africanum. If I should what store sells it?

The men on my mother’s side of the family have good hair while the men on my father’s side are very bald. I have the same hairline, facial hair and hair color as my mother’s father and brothers. Does this mean that I am more likely to favor their characteristics in regards to male pattern baldness?

Hopefully my hair will eventually grow back. This will just be a temporary shave if it does, but permanent if it does not. my hair lose is NOT male-pattern baldness. I am just loosing the hair in dime or nickel sized patches. Right now I have two patches missing.

After recently discovering that I had Male Pattern Baldness, I decided to take the initiative and do something about it. After researching many medications an alternative methods to hair growth, I came across Propecia. After obtaining a prescription to propecia, I began taking it immediately in order to slow the process of MPB. After being on it for about 2 weeks I have noticed a significant increase in shedding. Is this normal and if so how long does the shedding phase normally last? Thanks in Advance.

I’m in the early stages of male pattern baldness … too early for a transplant and I’m at too high of a risk for side-effects to be on medication. My question is, are hair extensions an option? Is it possible to attach extensions with some type of glue or sew them into areas where there is no hair? All I really want is longer hair in the front, so what cost can I expect to pay?

no, right? that means ocean water is the key to preventing male-pattern baldness. so ocean water is a good substitute for rogaine.

Since I was about high school age, I"m 21 now I go through periods of time when my hair falls out in a about 4 quarters worth of space on my head but it always grows back. How can I tell if it’s from stress, weight gain or male pattern baldness?

I know that male pattern baldness comes from a gene passed from the mother’s father. My father was bald. My son wants to know if there is anything he can do while he still has a full head of hair, rather than waiting until he is bald. Are there any new drugs or homeopathic remedies that help to slow or stop the hair thinning caused by male pattern baldness?

say if i have long hair and i start losing alot of hair from male pattern baldness if i start taking propecia tha neext couple days wil hair still be falling from my head?

Baldness is a social stigma, but is there any demonstrated correlation between male pattern baldness and early death or physical disability?

I hear there is a new treatment for male pattern baldness involving stem cells. Is this true? If it is, where can i find more information about it?

I know that Rogaine and Propecia can help, but are there any medications that are natural that can regrow hair, or slow down and stop hair loss? It’s really Important because I’m 17 and i’m experiencing Male-pattern baldness.
