Hes had weight loss, appetite loss,he only drinks water and doesnt eat anything ,he throws up hair balls and has a lot of hair loss.Does anyone have a clue of what the name of the disease he might have is

ps.i took him to a vet here in mexico where i am and the vet said that he didnt know what my dog had and to just put him to sleep! plz help!

So my dog has lost a disturbing amount of hair. We took him to the vet and she said it looked like mange but the blood work came back negative. Then the vet said it was most likely an allergy to poultry. We switched to dog food with no poultry but it’s been about two months and there is still no improvement. Should I wait longer to see improvement or insist that my vet send the blood work to be re-tested?

My dog has a skin problem on her back just before her tail and now spreading down the tail, and looks to be forming on the insides of the legs too. The skin is red and brown, some scabs, and some puffy/raised sores. The hair is thinning in these areas and where it has grown back it is short and coarse. It is very itchy and she bites at it and rolls on her back. This happened around the same time last year then went away. But its way worse this time and shes going to the vet, just wondering what disease or parasite this is?

My ferret is a 6-year-old neutered male. A couple of weeks ago he started losing a lot of hair. I know that it is often a sign of adrenal disease, but he is not losing any hair at the base of his tail. Rather, it started in the middle of his back. He has a bald patch there, the hair is thinning on his belly and now he is starting to lose hair on his neck as well. I haven’t noticed any unusual biting or scratching and his skin looks okay. Any thoughts on what the cause of this could be? He is eating well and acting okay. I don’t want to take him to the vet unless I absolutely have to because I know it will cost hundreds of dollars and I just can’t afford it.

mouse is scratching and creating scabs and bald patches of hair. The vet said he thinks she has alopecia and gave me something that smelled like rubbing alcohol. Does anyone have an alternate solution for this? Has anyone ever heard of this in a mouse? she hasnt alwas had it; its recent. Her ears bleed cuz she scratches so much.

I believe my 7yr old Boxer Zoe has this. She began showing signs of this about a week or so ago. Any and all info would be helpful.
Hi Laura thanx for your answer, I should have mentioned that I will be bringing her to the vet soon. I am also wondering if it’s typical for this condition to occur on BOTH sides, as this is the case

Recently I have noticed my 7 year old cat throwing up food,I have taken him to the vet and the vet cannot decide what this could be caused from, I changed his diet thought maybe it was the food I was giving him, no change, Me next thought was it was caused from his fluffy hair so I took him to a groomer and had him shaved… Still no change.. I am begging to think it is something serious… If you have any ideas of what it might be and what I might possible try, I am open to suggestions… Thank you in advance

I’m thinking about adopting a 4 month old pound puppy, but the pound wanted to let me know the dog has hair loss. They couldn’t find any cause for it (ie mites, disease) but wanted to make sure we were okay with it. They said we probably would need to follow up with the vet about it. The dog is an underweight stray mixed breed (not quite emaciated) and around 4 to 5 months old. Hair loss is even throughout the dogs body, mainly just thinning, with no patches. What could be causing this? Could it be a result of malnutition?

My male ferret (age 5) is experiencing difficulty in using his hind legs – The left more than the right. The vet told me it could be a sign or advance adrenal disease or lymphoma. His lymph nodes and spleen do not seem to be swollen, so lymphoma is probably not the case. However, difficulty using the hind legs seems to be one of the last symptoms of adrenal disease – The first and most prominent symptom being hair loss. My ferrets has not experienced any hair loss. He did lose some weight and was quite a bit larger when he was a young (1-2 years old) ferret, but all my ferrets seem to have gotten slightly smaller as they advance in age. He did not seem to display excessive drinking and urinating, or increased scratching. And the hind-leg weakness seems to have come on rather suddenly. Does anyone have any additional information for me?

My boxer has Seasonal Alopecia, the vet said theres realy nothing i can do. I have been reading fourms on this and people sy to give the dog melatonin. Does anyone know if that realy works or what eles i can do or give her?

He is a very picky eater, but the vet says only feed "Dog Food".
besides losing hair he’s itchy, irritable, and lathargic.

He is on Canidae right now. Please help!
The vet claims it to seasonal. I have changed the dog food thinking it might have to do with that.

My dog is almost 3 years old and has all the symptoms of color dilution alopecia but she is a black and tan not a blue or fawn. Can she have it?
She has been to the vet. No mange and the vet doesn’t think its thyroid based on her appearance. She does have a tan/brown undercoat over most of her body that is only supposed to be allowed around the neck area.
